In case you missed it earlier this week, The Wall Street Journal ran a chart in its special small business supplement highlighting the responses to the following question asked by the Kauffman Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership: Are you interested in starting a business?
Among the general public, the answer split about 50-50 between yes and no. Not bad, but the big news was the breakdown among America's youth.
Almost 70% of 14- to 19-year-olds surveyed answered yes, that they were interested in starting a business, with a little more than 30% answering no.
For those of us often concerned that the entitlement mentality has seeped deep into our culture and society, this strong impulse toward entrepreneurship among our youth is encouraging and offers great hope.
